What is Naturopathic Medicine?
Naturopathic medicine is a distinct medical healthcare profession that places emphasis on disease prevention and self-healing processes through the use of natural therapies.
Principles of Naturopathic Medicine:
Healing Power of Nature: Naturopathic physicians recognize that each individual possesses the innate capacity to heal. As doctors, our job is to recognize and remove the obstacles to cure and support the foundations of health in order to allow the body to restore to a state of optimal wellness.
Identify and Treat the Cause: Much of today’s medical practices focus on suppressing symptoms. Naturopathic medicine is focused on going beyond symptoms, and treating the root cause.
Doctor as Teacher: We see our role as a guide and partner in your health journey, recognizing the importance of a collaborative effort. Therefore, we are passionate about educating our patients on their health and how to take the daily steps towards to maintain a state of optimal wellness.
Treat the Whole Person: As naturopathic physicians, we recognize that all systems are intricately intertwined and in-depth understanding of an individual’s health cannot be fully realized until looking at the WHOLE PERSON. For instance, to understand why an individual may be experiencing a skin rash, we would investigate the health of the gut, liver, and hormones, as well as look into diet, environmental exposures and stress.
Prevention: We want to act as a true “health-care”system and keep you feeling well. Our goal is to not only treat disease, but recognize and treat early signs of disease before it fully manifests.
What is IV Therapy and How Long Do the Treatments Usually Last?
IV nutrient therapy provides essential vitamins, minerals, and amino acids directly into the bloodstream through an IV. This route provides a more concentrated dose of nutrients than what you’d be able to ingest through dietary means.
They range from as little as 30 minutes to 90 minutes depending on the choice of IV.
Are Vitamin Injections Better than Oral Supplements?
Receiving an injection intramuscularly is faster acting than an oral option. Some individuals suffer from poor absorption and therefore are unable to get the required dose in oral form.
Injections can be administered in either the upper arm or in the buttock, both are muscular sites and results last up to 7 days.
What is the Difference between Prolotherapy and Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)?
Prolotherapy, also known as regenerative injection therapy, is an alternative treatment that uses injection of an irritant solution into a joint space, ligament or tendon in an effort to relieve pain or address ligament laxity.
PRP is a regenerative injection therapy that uses the platelet-enriched portion of your blood. The PRP contains several types of growth factors and cytokines that stimulate healing of injured tendons, ligaments, muscles and joints.
Do You Offer Botox, Juvaderm, Restlyane or Radiesse?
We offer a natural alternative, derived solely from your own growth factors, that provides similar but more natural looking results. We prefer these methods, as they reduce the risk of unwanted side effects and actually work to increase the health of your skin. Our methods are completely non-toxic.
The medical profile questionnaire is very long. Do I have to fill out every section?
Yes, we must have the the questionnaire filled out in its entirety 24 hours before your first appointment. It is helpful to update this before each appointment, as it will better prepare the doctor to make the best use of your time together.
